Good Morning L.A.

Awake today
The streets of Hollywood
Are pouring their hearts
Into songs hummed by engines
And the breeze is promising

From a private balcony of the
Chateau Marmont in
Hidden Hollywood
-         the protruding mountains north –
-         a sprawling city lying south –
The rising sun is a dynasty among solar plains

It’s directly in front of me
In all its glory
What a July day
Sunday
7-23-06
And I, a Leo,
Am enamored,
Grateful
&
Thankful

A morning welcome to live
And, if you’re jaded by L.A.,
Die in vain.

Walking the pavement –
A stroll past National Lampoon’s
Headquarters, Starbucks by “the Riot”
(Hyatt) and the L.A. House of Blues and
The hotel where Sky Bar is perched on top

Brunch at Saddle Ridge
Where Holly of Hollywood
Gave a great performance
= 50% tip for her
Smile, banter and understanding needs
-Delivering the bottomless Mimosas
&
Bloody Mary’s
-Recommending the
Strawberry Blonde
&
Fallen Angel

In at 3 a.m.
Up at 7 a.m.
Drunk again by 11 a.m.
Peaceful Hollywood sleep
In a luxuriant white bed
Until a little after Noon
Only to hang poolside

And look for the ghost of
Jim & Pamela
-Lights of L.A.-
Eternal flames
Of
Music,
Poetry,
Luxury,
Romance
&
Endless energy
For me to see
What others can’t
But I do
&
I do

Good morning to
You too,
L.A.

Best of the Roses,
John
