Subject: Western PA Football - Feeding the League
To: friends@foxnews.com

So I am exploring the idea of a book to be called Western PA Football: Growing Feed for the League.

My uncle (my father's brother), Anthony Cont, MD, used to be heavily involved in sport's medicine through his authority on weight and barriatrics - Working very closely w/ the University of Pittsburgh until he semi retired to Hilton Head Island at the LifeStyle Directions Medical Center (he and my father had there) - My uncle is now 3, 500 feet above sea level in a little log home outside of Asheville, NC.

Joe Namath, Danny Marino, Mike Dikta, Tony Dorsett - these were some "home grown" boys that I met through my uncle as a young lad in this magnificent world of The Conte's - I have a pic w/ Andy Russell (world champion Super Bowl Pittsburgh Steeler) from when my father had him over our house - Joe Namath tried to convince me that there were no such things as witches and one was not going to fly through the big window of my uncle's home and come snatch me - while I was on Joe's knee.

Actually, I may write this book just so I can say to Joe Namath - that night at my Uncle Anthony Conte's home in Patterson Heights - Beaver Falls, PA, I appreciated your words then and appreciate your intent even now but, Joe, I have sure met my fair share of witches.

The stories and contacts from my uncle alone are good ones - Jimmy Johnson (who my uncle used "to see" while coaching the Dolphins and still keeps in touch with) and Jackie Sheryl, Johnny Majors, etc..

And, then, in Sewickley, PA alone resides Chuck Noel, Lynne Swann, Jack Ham, Franco Harris, Mike Webster's daughter, Brooke Webster, etc..

But, Brian, really - football aside, who's better Gretzky 99 or Lemuix 66?

Cheers, Old Sports!
